From here, continue to Lake Skadar for a relaxing 30-minute boat ride, gliding through calm waters, water lilies, and rich birdlife that make this lake one of the Balkans’ natural treasures.
Leaving the north behind, the journey continues towards Lezhë, where a special stop is planned for lunch at Mrizi i Zanave, Albania’s most famous farm-to-table restaurant, known for authentic local cuisine and organic ingredients rooted in tradition. After lunch, drive onward to Krujë, the historic city and powerful symbol of Albanian resistance, closely linked to the national hero Skanderbeg. Depart from Tirana in the morning and drive south through Albania’s scenic countryside toward Berat, the UNESCO-listed “City of a Thousand Windows.”
Upon arrival, enjoy a guided exploration of Berat Old Town, including the charming Mangalem and Gorica quarters, cobbled streets, and historic Ottoman architecture.
Visit Berat Castle, wandering its walls and courtyards while enjoying panoramic views of the Osum River valley.
For lunch, savor authentic local cuisine at a traditional restaurant in the city.
