Tour Overview

This 7-day journey through Albania begins with your arrival in Tirana, where you get your first taste of the country’s vibrant energy. You’ll then travel north to Shkodra and Kruja, exploring historic castles and traditional bazaars before returning to the capital. The route continues toward the south, stopping at the serene Ardenica Monastery and the ancient city of Apollonia before reaching the coastal town of Vlora. From there, you’ll enjoy stunning Riviera scenery on the way to the UNESCO site of Butrint, ending the day in seaside Saranda. The adventure continues with visits to Gjirokastra and Berat, both UNESCO-listed gems known for their architecture and rich heritage. Your journey concludes with a return to Tirana and a smooth transfer to the airport, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Albania’s culture, landscapes, and history.

Tour Plan

Upon arrival at Tirana Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Time permitting, enjoy a visit to the National History Museum, offering a comprehensive overview of Albania’s history from prehistoric times to the present, along with a brief tour of the city’s main highlights.
Folk Show dinner at a traditional restaurant will be the highlighted for today.

Overnight stay in Tirana.

 Breakfast, drive to Shkodra the most important town of north Albania and the Illyrian capital, in the 3rd century BC.

 Short walking tour of city, visit the Venetian Mask Shop, and Visit Rozafa Castle from where spectacular views all around can be admired. We procced for a 30 min boat ride, and driver off to Fishte.

We'll stop for lunch at Mrizi Zanave, agrifam, soil to table, seasonal food only.

Short stop to Kruje, approx. 1h, the monumental city  of resistance against the Ottoman invasion  in medieval Europe.

Return and overnight in Tirana.

Depart for Vlora, the coastal city where Albanian Independence was officially proclaimed.
En route, visit the Monastery of Ardenica, believed to date back to the Middle Ages, as indicated by an entrance stone from 1417.
Inside the monastery church, admire the remarkable 18th-century icon paintings (1743–1745) created by renowned Albanian artists such as Konstandin and Athanos Zografi, as well as Konstandin Shpataraku.
Continue to the ancient city of Apollonia, once a major center along the historic Via Egnatia and one of the most important cities of the Roman era.
Known as Apollonia Prima among 16 cities dedicated to Apollo, it gained additional prestige as the place where Caesar sent his nephew, Augustus Octavian, to study oratory.
Lunch break and continue towards  
Vlora with a scenic stop at the Narta Lagoon and the picturesque Zvernec Island, featuring its iconic wooden bridge and the serene St. Mary’s Monastery.
Hotel check in and free time to roam around promenade.
Overnight in Vlora.

After an early breakfast, depart for Saranda, driving along the spectacular Albanian Riviera with stunning views over the Ionian Sea.
Enjoy breathtaking panoramas from the Llogara Pass and National Park, rising 1,000 meters above sea level.
Continue toward Saranda with a short stop at the Ali Pasha Fortress, a strategic fortification historically used to control maritime trade routes.
Lunch stop and we continue to Butrint.
Proceed past Saranda to the ancient city of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Albania’s most significant archaeological treasures.
According to legend, the city was founded by Trojan settlers led by Aeneas; historically, it was originally settled by Greek colonists and continuously inhabited for centuries, creating rich archaeological layers from multiple civilizations.
Beyond its exceptional ruins, Butrint is set on a beautiful peninsula renowned for its diverse flora and fauna.
After the visits, return to Saranda for overnight.

After early breakfast we drive to Berat. 
But first we'll spend 1h at Blue eye, that's right a spring with cold ice water gurgling from depth appears the electric blue.
On our way lays Gjirokaster, a UNESCO site and museum town with beautiful and very distinctive architecture.
Visit the medieval Castle which used to be a political prison during the communist dictatorship and the Ethnographic Museum which is also the house the Albanian dictator was born in
In Berat we check in at the hotel and the group is then left at leisure to explore Berat.
Overnight in Berat.

After breakfast, visit the Berat Castle and the Onufri Museum.
Berat Castle is especially unique as it remains a living fortress, with families still residing in traditional homes preserved by generations.
Visit Onufri Museum, dedicated to the renowned 16th-century Albanian iconographer Onufri, whose vivid colors and masterful style adorned numerous Orthodox churches.
Wine tasting experience at cellar Pupa or Cobo, in the best wine city producer.
Conclude the day by returning to Tirana for overnight.
